The costs of Russian agrarians for insurance of 1 hectare of grain crops under the program of protection in case of emergency in the spring sowing season 2024 amounted to 101 rubles per 1 hectare, — analyzed the National Union of Agroinsurers (NUA), summarizing the results of insurance of the spring campaign.
The average cost of insurance of one hectare of agricultural crops is listed in the report of the NIA, which was read by sfera.fm. Experts note that taking into account the state support insurance costs agrarians cheap enough to keep agro-insurance programs affordable for most farms.
- The most expensive among the main groups of grain crops was insurance of corn for grain: 166 rubles/ha.
- Insurance of barley — 100 rubles/ha, wheat — 92 rubles/ha, oats — 70 rubles/ha, millet — 69 rubles/ha, buckwheat — 63 rubles/ha.
- Insurance of oilseed crops was a bit more expensive: insurance of soybean — 158 rubles/ha, rapeseed — 138 rubles/ha, sunflower for grain — 95 rubles/ha.
“This evaluation takes into account only the insurance premiums paid directly by farms,” explained Korney Bizhdov, President of NCA. The second part of the insurance policy under contracts with state support is paid for by the budget in the form of subsidies, but this process should no longer “infringe” on farmers’ finances. Thus, the cost of insurance in case of emergency is available for all categories of farms, saving on this insurance is not rational and inexpedient”.
Disaster insurance program provides for insurance indemnification of crop loss within the limits of direct costs of the agrarian company for each hectare of crops, the loss of which is determined as a result of a natural disaster. The state of emergency of regional level and above must be officially declared in the region.
